Rec Center Activity Areas

Outdoor Recreation Center - "ORC":
The "ORC" is your one stop shop for all of your outdoor hobbies!
They offer day, weekend and extended trips (hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, climbing,
kayaking and more!) for all ability levels. They offer several educational workshops to fine
tune your outdoor skills as well as renting a wide variety of outdoor gear for you to create
your own adventure, specializing in Ski/Snowboard and Bike Maintenance. You can also find any
outdoor destination by utilizing the ORC resource center, complete with books and maps of all
kinds!

| Recreation Gymnasium
The "rec gym" has rounded walls for indoor soccer and floor
hockey. It has one main court for basketball and volleyball and two side courts for basketball
and volleyball. It"s multi-purpose design is great for a variety of activities.

Natatorium
Featuring an 8 lane, 25 yard pool in addition to a 14 person spa in the shape of the Mines
spherical tetrahedron, the pool also includes two diving boards (1 meter & 3 meter).

Elevated Jogging Track
A 1/16 mile three lane track elevated above the "rec gym" designed for joggers and walkers.

Equipment available for check-out includes:
Basketballs, volleyballs, indoor soccer balls, table tennis paddles, billiards cues and balls,
weight belts, badminton gear, climbing wall equipment and more. See attendant for details.

Climbing Wall
4,000 sq. ft. climbing wall including top rope climbing, lead climbing and bouldering. The wall
features terrain for varying ability levels, multiple cracks, a 9 foot cave as well as a
teaching platform and a 40 foot pinnacle.

Fitness Lab
5,500 sq. ft. fitness area equipped with cardiovascular machines including treadmills,
stationary bikes and elliptical cross trainers. It also features a total body weight training
circuit, plate loaded machines and a free-weight area.

Juice Lab
The juice lab is located in the main circulation area and includes a wide variety of
smoothies, sandwiches, juices, fruit, energy bars, and coffee for your enjoyment.

Lockridge Arena
Championship court for varsity basketball and
volleyball.The arena will seat 2,500 spectators and up to 3,000 people for concerts and
commencement ceremonies. The competition gym also has basketball, volleyball and badminton
available on the side courts.

Gear Up
Sports equipment may be checked-out in the recreation center. Equipment is provided on a
first-come/first-served check-out basis at the GEAR UP counter located at the control desk.

Multi Purpose Rooms
Two multi-use activity rooms for aerobics, martial arts, table tennis, yoga, social events
and more!

Locker Rooms
Men and Women"s locker rooms with day use lockers and
individual shower stalls. Bring your own lock or check one out from GEAR UP.
